AUCTIONEER'* REPORT. Mr. R. Leigh reports that he held a sale of household furniture, crockery, and glassware at his mart on haturday, the l&th mat. The attendance was good, and satisfactory prices Wire obtained for mos. of the lots submitted. He also held a sale of milch cows, hacks, &c., at the Empire lards at 2 o'clock, when the following prices were realised :-Cows, from L 7 to LS l-s Gd, draught gelding, L2U; mangolds, Is Gd per George Greenfield reports that he held a sale of household furniture, oranges, See., at his auction mart on Saturday. Ihe attendance was only moderate and the biddiaz du l; furniture sold at very fair furores. oranges at 103 per case, oak chairs 7» 3d each, and sundry good 3 at fair values.

WELLINGTON. (BY XfXEifBAPH.) September 18. Messrs. Laery nnd Campbell report a large sale of wines, spirits, ami beer yesterday. There was a fair attendance of buyers, and a large quantity of goods chanetti hand*, but at prices that could hardly L« calte.l satisfactory. In produce there is little alteration from last weeks quotations except in butter; fresh butter at to-day's sale only realising -Id to Gd per lb, and a large quantity of salt butter was sold at 3d per lb, no charge for kegs. A consignment of Melbourne butter brought kegs given in ; eggs, Dd to 9|d.

DUNEDIN. To-day's Daily Times reports as follows: The wheat market is very quiet, and with plentiful supplies, prices are inclined to be left firm. Prime milling is procurable at 4s 6d per bos he 1 , but sales at this are not numerous. Oats are in good supply, with little business passing. We quote beat feed la 7d per bushel, milling Is Bd. Barley continues a drug in the market, but is being bought, freely by brewers for next season s requirements. We have to report the arrival on Thursday last of the Bieronymus, from New York.

THE MELBOURNE MARKETS. The Argua of the 10th inst. says Breadutoffir are atill neglected, and nothing of any special interest is allowed to come before us. Flour is moving in tvade parcels at LS 12s fid and LS Ins,"but the demand even in such small quantities is very trifling. Wheat is steady at 4s, at which, however, buyers operate very sparingly indeed. Oats are firm at quotations ranging from Is lOd to 2s 3sd for feeding, and a good trade inquiry exists. Maize is moving at 3s 3d, and no business has been carried through at anything over. A few parcels of feeding barley hare been sold at 2s 3d to 2s 6d. Bran meets with considerable attention for expost, at from lOid to lid.
