VITAL STATISTICS.
The vital statistics for O&raaru for the month of August show 43 births, 5 deaths, and 5 marriages. (by telegraph.) Wellington, August 31. During August 118 births and 62 deaths have been registered in this district. 32 marriage certificates were issued during the same period. Dunedin, August 31. The vital statistics for August for Dtinedin district were :—Births, 181 ; deaths, 46 ; marriages, 31. Christchurch, August 31. The following are the vital statistics of Christchurch and district for August:— Births, 192 ; marriages, 32 ; deaths, 47. The figures for the same month last year were almost the same. Timaru, August 31. During the month of August, 26 births, 9 deaths, and 6 marriages were registered in Timaru. The deaths include those in the County Hospital. Invercargill, August 31. During August 45 births and 10 deaths were registered in the district of Invercargill. Six marriage certificates were, issued.
