The case has commenced against the proprietors' of the Sydney Evening News for contempt of Court in commenting on Judge Windeyer's summing in an action for libel. The defendants offered a qualified apology, to which the Bench objected. The case was adjourned till to-moiTOW, Atfgyist BQ. In the Legislative Assembly the Reform of the Constitution Bill will be . introduced for discussion, but in all likelihood will be deferred till next year.
Oats are firmer; milling qualities firm, with moderate enquiry, but any attempt to raise prices "would check business.
The Alexa is reported as having aniyed at Hong Kong on July 20th.
