| (reuter's telegram, pbk press association) London, August- 15. Obituary —Viscount Stratford de .Radcliffe, August 16. [Numerous land meetings have been held throughout Ireland. At a recent meeting at Kildare Mr. Dillon, Home Rule member for Tipperary, made several seditious speeches. The cathedral which has been in course of construction at Cologne for some time past is now completed, Paris, August 15, M. Gambetta has "written a letter in which he says democracy will strengthen France and will enable her to recover her lost provinces of Alsace and Lorraine. August 16. It now transpires that M. Gambetta's letter is of old date, and has not been recently written-, as at first supposed.
