Sir—l have the honor *o report on five samples of Pert Wine forwarded by you for analysis. These samples may all be described as full-flavored, fruity, aromatic Wines; possessing iu a considerable degree that agreeable tragrance that characterises genuine Port. They do not contain impurities of any kind. The perfect freeness of these Wines from every kind of impurity, the proportion of sugar and alcohol which they contain being quite characteristic of unadulterated, unmanipulated Wine, together with their rich fragrance arising from aromatic ethers, should stroQgly recommend them, and gain for them a good place in the Colonial market.
