AUCTION KKR-' REPORTS Mr. George Greenfield reports that he held a clearing sale of live and dead stock at Kakanui Month yesterday. The attendance was large and the bidding brisk. The woperty was not sold, not reaching the vendors but will in all probability be disposed of privately. Two hacks retched L 5 2s 6d and L«> fo respectively ; cows from L 4 to L 9 5a ; carrot*, from 201 to 253 per ton; fowls, 3s b'd per pair; and a lot of sundries at fair rates. MELBOURNE. The Argus of the 27th nit. reports for the previous day Flour commands attention au L 9 and ij--29 6d, while in addition to the ordinary trade demand, we hear of a line of 50 tons having changed hands at L 0 2s 6d. Wheat is unaltered ;4s 4Ad i 3 still quoted for best samples, but there is no business to report. Feeding grains are slow, and we have no transactions to report beyond actual wants. Oats find buyers at prices ranging from 2s to 2■ 3d, bat no special reached ■a Maize has a very good inquiry, and sales are making freely at 2s 1 Id and 3s.
