OTEPOPO ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of this Board was held on Friday last, at which there wore present:—Messrs. Falconer (chairman), M'Donald, Ross, Scott, Morton, Diehl, Watson, Morrison, Mitchell, and Anderson. Mr. Ross moved, and Mr. M'Donald seconded, That the minutes of last meeting be adopted as read. The outward correspondence was read and approved. There was read a petition from residents in Herbert asking that Froup-street should be formed. —On the motion of Mr. Ross, seconded by Mr. Morrison, it was decided that Messrs. M'Donald and Anderson bo appointed to inspect it, with power to act. The interest due to the Banks was ordered to be charged pro rata. It was decided to postpone the erection of the bridge at Bowalley Creek. On the motion of Mr. Morrison, seconded by Mr. Morton, it was decided that Messrs. Anderson and M'Donald bo empowered to have the roads at Cameron's Gully and Marshall's gate repaired. On the motion of Mr. M'Donald, se* conded by Mr. Anderson, Mr. Diehl was directed to have the Breakneck road repaired. Messrs. Henderson and Scott were, on the motion of Mr. M'Donald, seconded by Mr. Ross, directed to have the culvert at Gibson's repaired. Mr. Diehl moved, " That the Clerk advertise that all rates unpaid within thirty days be sued for," which was seconded by Mr. Watson, and unanimously carried. Mr. Anderson moved that all rates payable previous to year 1879-80 be sued for at once, without further notice.—Seconded by Mr. Morton, and carried. Mr. Scott moved that the surfacemen's wages remain at 7s. per day, for which there was no seconder. It was then resolved that the wagoa of surfacemen in the Board's employ be Gs a day. On the motion of Mr. M'Donald, seconded by Mr. Mitchell, the accounts as read were passed for payment. A vote of thanks to the Chairman ended the meeting.
