We remind our readers that a very pleasing and interesting entertainment will be given this evening in the New Tees-street Hall, at 8 o'clock. The first part is to take the form of a panoramic view of Palestine, from photographs taken on the spot. The views have never before been shown here, having but just arrived from Home. The second part will consist of an illustrated poem, entitled " Jane Conquest." This has been arranged for the disc by Dr. Crpf£, of the London Polytechnic, and will, we believe, well repay those who are present. The entertainment will conclude with an exhibition of "The Wheel of Life," in which thirty moving figures will be thrown on the screen at once. The descriptive readings will be given by Mr. Moore, and musical selections by Mrs. Moore. We trust to see a large attendance.

It was a matter for regret that the Rev. C. E. Barley's lecture on "Dr. Guthrie." delivered last evening in the Primitive Methodist Lecture Hall, should have been so meagrely attended. The subject was one full of instruction, interest, and proof what by energy and perseverance may be accomplished in the face of the greatest difficulties. The rev. lecturer handled his subject well, bringing into prominence the most noticeable events of the eventful life of an earnest, hardworking, and thoroughly devout minister of the church. Space does not permit us to follow the lecturer throughout his discourse, and we shall therefore content ourselves with saying that Mr. Barley was deserving of a larger audience than he received. Possibly the coldness of the night may have militated against a better attendence. The chair was occupied by Mr. Milligan.
