ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE OAMARU MAIL. Sir, —Some weeks ago, I, as a resident in this district, was very pleased to read a telegram from Wellington which appeared in your paper, announcing that this thriving township was to be favored at once—mark the two little words "at once " —with a much-needed post-office, thanks to our so-called Liberal Government at present in office. Now, sir, can you imagine how greatly disappointed we are when, after all the rejoicings of my friends and relations upon the happy event, we now find ourselves, Colonially speaking, euchred —i.e.,non est post-office. Will you kindly inquire into the matter, and let us know why the delay 1 and oblige yours, &c. A Subscriber. Windsor, July 12, 1880.
