In many respects it is not only a complete answer to the charges made by the Commissioners, but is throughout of a very damaging character, and has robbed the report of the Commission of much of its weight. Mr. Conyers' reply is looked upon as a complete vindication of his conduct of the department. Another Commission will, it is believed, be appointed next week, the duties of which will be to revise the system" of legal, procedure in. all the Courts of the Colony, so as to reduce the cost and waste of time in carrying on actions. It is said that the Commission will consist of the Judges of the Supreme Court, two District Court Judges, the Attorney-General, Solicitor-General, two Resident Magistrates, two Justices of the Peace, two barristers on behalf of the Government, and four other barristers representing the Law Societies.
