Themarket during the week has teen exceedingly quiet, business in most, lines having been partially stopped by the extremely wet weather that has lately prevailed.—Wheat : No alteration can be noted locally in the vaTne of this grain, although the most recent cable advices to hand advise r a weak market in London. Quotations arc 3a 6d for good milling, and 3s 3dto 3s 4d for average samples. Chick wheat continues in I abundant supply. —Oats : For first-class milling, Is 4d to Is 5d is obtainable, and ""'feed qualities are seUing at Is Id to Is 31. Barley is without alteration, and unless ot t .«ood quality is. hard to quit.—Potatoes: A .■ Setter inquiry has been felt during the past week. Sales are being made at 22s6dto_3s. ; Flour has had fair business at L 9 to l^lU, according to brand.—Dairy Produce :Bntter is quoted at 9.'.d to ll)d ; cheese, <£d to 4Ad; , hams and bacon, 9&<L— to wet ■weather, the supply of live stock this week was limited, and competition consequently sood.—Mutton is quoted at 2M to 2*d per fi» ; beef, 223 6d, and a shade higher for - prime lots.

Mr. Donald Sfcronach (on behalf of the New i Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (limited) reports as follows for the -week ending J«ne 30 : Fat dattle were m short snpply at tne yards to-day, only IS9 head having been „ offered. The demand for prime quality was 6 irobd, and last week's prices well rastrimed. Bullocks realised from L 6 os to Ll2 li-s 6d ; " and cows, L4ssto L 7 17s 6d per head. On a account of Mr. William Shand, we sold IS head, of bulloeks at prices quoted *bove. "We quote pvime beef, 27s 6d j and medium^ * '22s6dto2s3per loolb. , nnaiX Fat Sheep.—776 merino.?, and 2020 crossbreds were offered. Although the supply •was a full one, the demand was good. Merinos fetched 5s 9d to 9s 6d per head, and ' crossbreds lis 6d to 20s. On account of Mr. ; John Duncan, of Chercy Farm, and ALr._J. . Grey, we sold drafts o£ prossbreds at 14s * 6d to 17s 6d; and also a draft from the Wantwood Station, consisting of 119 crosstreds at 14s 6d, and 496 merinos at 5s M to 8s ed per head. We quote prime mutton 3d .^Sheepskins.—At our auction on Monday i we offered and cleared a fair catalogue, with sood competition at the following prices:— Butcher's crossbred skins, 3s 3d to 4s 9d ; merinos, 2s Sd to 3s 3d; full-woolled skins, 5a lOd; pelts and station skins, ,9d to 4s C' 'tiooii* * __ - Hides.—We quote, as before, 33d per lb. ■" for wet salted, and 20s each butchers green K3es, at Which price the demand is good.
