TO THE EDITOR OF THE OAMARTT MAIL, Dear Sir, —Now thai the plaatucls are off the cabs you will have a little room for my mud. Thpro's nothing lao dolight in as mud—stiff mud, aoft mud, thiok mud, thin mud, deep mucl, knee-deep mud, mud that will stick, mud that will bespatter. I like all kinds of it, Why do I like it ? Beoauso I live in it. It lies on my baok most of tho year, but mostly at this season. : So I've got i used to it j indesd, I now delight in it—delight to see it lie about—delight to see it fly ahout. lam short-sighted, but I can / what goes on on my back. Across my b&cfc oabs trundle, carriages roll, waggons ruiwlle, butchers'horses amble and gallop* laborers stride, misses and maidens trip, ladies pick their way, and school children splash. I fairly rollick with glee when I see a tptuco miss or a daintily-dressed young lady gingerly crossing, arid a cantering cob or whirling cab sends the mud all-ovfer her. If that ctfrty fellow oomea, with his hoe to scrape me, my consolation comeawhen I see a young swell step aukle-deep into the heap left behind while lie makes his bbvpto tho occupants of the carriage that passes.
