Sir—l have the honor to report on five samples of Port Wine forwarded by you for analysis. These samples may all be described as full-flavored, fruity, aromatic Wines; possessing in a considerable degree that agreeable fragrance that characterises genuine Port. They do not contain impurities of any kind. The perfect freeneßS of these Wines from every kind of impurity, the proportion of sugar and alcohol which they contain being quite characteristic of unadulterated, unmanipulated- Wine, together with their rich fragrance arising from aromatic ethers, should strongly recommend them, and gain for them-a good place in the Colonial market. - (Signed) JAMES G. ERECTION OF TIMBER DRYING ROOMS. —The difficulty experienced by all consumers in procuring supplies of thoroughly Seasoned Timber is well known, and has induced the Company to erect at very considerable cost a complete set of Drying Rooms, capable of seasoning in one parcel over 100,000 feet of timber, to meet this much-felt want. The Drying Roomg are now in full work, and the result has full?, justified the expense incurred. It is intended to use only suoh timber as has been subjected to this process in making up Furniture and Wood ware, and this cannot fail to favorably influence the demand for the Company's Manufactures. The attention of Builders and Contractors is specially drawn to the advantages derivable from the use of timber which has undergone this process of seasoning, and which are: A perfect freedom from clinging, and a consequent absence of the unseemly joints so noticeable in ordinary workmanship, as well as a greater durability in the material employed. A knowledge of these facts must eventually lead to the extensive use of thie Seasoned Timber in all works were such advantages are a desideratum. SEASONED TIMBER for the Trade will be supplied on favorable terms, which can he learned on application at the Company's Offices personally, or by letter. The Factory may now be considered the most elaborate of its kind in the world, and the expedition with which the most intricate orders can be dispatched will commend itself to the public. THE HARDWARE DEPARTMENT stocks are of the most complete description,

and are being largely added to on the ar rival of each vessel from the British ant American markets. The Company is pre pared to supply customers with every re quisite in the Ironmongery trade at thi lowest market rates. THE FURNITURE DEPARTMENT possesses a special feature in the introduc tion of local woods into the manufactures and the successful sale of articles of thi nature marks the appreciation of the Com pany's efforts in this direction. Specia attention is given to use only such timbe: for this class of work as has been thoroughly seasoned by the new process lately intro duced by the Company, and Customers cai therefore be guaranteed against the failur< of any articles from the use of unseasoned timber.
