J TO THE EDITOR OF THE OAMARU MAIL. Sir,—As a lover of justice and fair play, in connection with the Members' Plate for all-age dogs run off yesterday, I take the liberty of calling your coursing subscribers' attention to the fact that the winner, Banshee, was reared and trained from a puppy by Mr. G. H. Ayton at the Medora Kennels, and went out of hia hands only three weeks ago on account of her having changed owners. I think it therefore only fair to Mr. Ayton that your coursing friends should know—and in this her present trainer, Mr. T. Kett, agrees with me—that her success yesterday was due to the careful attention bestowed on her by Mr. Ayton. Besides Banshee, Mr. Ayton has turned out of his kennels this season two winners and two runners-up. I can only add that the Medora Kennels containing at present many of the best dogs in the colonies, are well worth a visit from any lover of the leash. —I am, &c., Wm. Atkinson. Oamaru, June 4, 1880. *
