COMMERCIAL INTELLIGENCE.
. THE LABOR MARKET. Mr. Henry Macintosh reports for the week ending 4th" June, as follows: — BBOTess m the labor-market is steady, the business done being general. The demand for ploughmen ha 3 been dull all along, and although men are ready to take the reduction in wages, yet there is a stiffness on the part of the farmer this season in employing labor, he not-knowing in many cases whether to put in crdp or let the ground rest. In fact, it would have been better for many of the farmers if they bad- not put in any crop bat trusted to poultry and stock feeding for one season. Let us hope the priee of grain will take a' rise soon, as we all feel the depression and shall be glad to see the farmer prosper. . _ - : AUCTIONEER'S REPORT.
