If elected, I will use my utmost endeavor to assist in carrying such measures as will do justice alike to all classes of the community. I will give a hearty support to any Governstent that may be in power in carrying out •ach reforms as will conduce to the reduction «F departmental , expenditure without destroyingthe efficiency of service, and in all honest endeavors to reduce taxation and to practice strict economy. 1 The information which I have gained in connection with our railway system as member of the Railway Commission will, trust, be of service to the country if I am flwM, as it will enable me to aid in putting aa end to all unprofitable railway schemes such oa have been forced upon Parliament during past years. I shall be in favor of the utmost liberality, consistent with prudence, in settling population upon our Crown lands, and of continuing the present liberal electoral law.
