There has been fair inquiry for wheat suitable for seed purposes, and small lots have been plaeed at 3s lOd to 4s ; chick wheat, of the better class, is saleable at 23 4d to 2s lOd; lower grades; 23 and upwards. The quantity'of wheat going on board ship for export still continues heavy, and the total number of bushels shipped up to the present ft— is already far in excess of the whole export of last season. There is nothing to record in the other branches of the market. MELBOURNE. The Argus of May 26 reports: —Breadatnffs have not been active. "Values, howare maintained, and prime wheat is quoted at 4s 4d to 4s sd; but we are without any private business to report, and what ■was done at aaction comprisedonly about 3SO bags, which realised from 3s 5d to 4s 3d; no prime was offered, flour has only_had tram attention at our quotation of L 9 5s to L 9 7s 6d, but sales have been unimportant. Arrivals from the country districts comprise 3110 bags flour, and 4382 bag 3 of wheat received in Melbourne, besides 192 bags flour geftt direct to Williamstown. In oat 3, a very ordinary routine business continues to lie done at prices ranging from Is lOd to 2s 2d and 2s 4d. A fair parcel of prime feeding was disposed of at 2s 3d. Maize has been going off at rather easier rates,-3s 2Jd to 3s 3d having been the ruling prices today.
