A CORRECTION.
TO THE EDITOB OF THE OAMARU MAIIi,
Sir, —I regret to see a few inaccuracies in your correspondent's report of my meeting at Kakanui. Two of these are of such a nature that I must ask you, in justice, to permit me to contradict them in your columns. I did not say "when Mr. ; Hislop resigned, he introduced me as his successor," nor did I say "the country and town of Waitaki were at variance in choice of a member."—I am, &c. W. H. S.
