THE LABOR MARKET. %HTf Henry Macintosh reports for the -week ending 15th May. as follows: The demand for labor during the week has been dull, the principal business being in domestic servants for town and country; female cooks and good hotel hands are scarce.. For men the demand has been slow, and. with the prospect of a hard winter many of our best hands are clearing out for the Cape, as they seem to be under the impression that New Zealand is done for a time, and having saved up a little_ money they naturally wish to better themselves.
