Consols, New Zealand securities, and tallow are unchanged. At the wool sales, to-day, 1000 bales were offered, making 18,500 catalogued since the opening. There was a good demand at to-day's auction, and crossbreds were firmer. April 23, The resignation of tbe fyfinistry has been accepted, and the Marquis of Hartington has been summoned by the Queen. London, April 22. The total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is 116,250,000, being a quarter of a million more than that of last week." -At the wool auction to-day 11,100 bales were offered, making a- total of 29,600 bales catalogued since the opening. Melbourne, April 23. A deputation of workmen was received to-day by the Hon. James Service, when threatening language was used, and remunerative employment demanded. A vessel named the George Arkle, bound for the colonies, went ashore near Sourabaya, biit afterwards floated unassisted, . April 24.
