MESSRS FLEMING AND MEDLEY'S SALES.
The following is the concluding portion of our report of yesterday's sale : Lot No. 11—0 a. 3r. 36p., Ll2O per acre, Mr. George Sutton. : Lot No. 12—la. Or. 28p., Ll2O per acre, Mr. George Sutton. Lot No. 6—oa. 3r. 25p., L 125 per acre, I l .* H. Townsend.
Lot No. B—oa. 3r. 27., with orchard, L 142 10s per acre, Mr. F. H. Townsend. . Lot No. 10—0 a. 3r. 27p. , LllO per acre, Mr. F. H. Townsend.
Lot Nos. 13, 14, 15—facing railway, each la. Ir. 20p., Llls per acre, Mr. W. J. Smith. This concluded the sale of the Floraville properties. The town properties were next offered. The first lot offered was sections .9 and 14, block 3, town of Oamaru. The' first bid was L2OOO and the last L 3300. Withdrawn, reserve being L4OOO. Lot 3—The premium on municipal section 8, block 2, immediately in front of the railway station, annual rental, LlO, was next offered, and knocked down to Mr. John Lemon for L 72 10s. About 21,000 bushels oats were now offered (to be delivered in store, free storage for 2 months if required). Mr. Stronach, for New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., at Is 4d per bushel. Mr. Stronach then submitted the Leicester Sheep, with the following results :—5 ram lambs, Mr. W. Dennison, 20s each ; 2 ramSj ; Mr. T. Y. Duncan, 21s each ; 4 ewes, Mr. Hanley, 36s each ; 2 ewes, Mr. Hanley, 203 each ; 5 ewes, Mr. Hanley, 18s each ; 5 ewes, Mr. Hanley, 18s each ; 7 hoggett ewes, Mr. Hanley, 17s each; 5 ewes, Mr. Dennison, 17s each; 5 ewes, Mr. Dennison, 17s each ; 5 ewes, Mr. Dennison, 17s each; 6 ewes, Mr. Dennison, 17s each ; 3 ewes, Mr. Dennison, 15s each ; 7 ewes, Mr. Dennison, 15s each ; 11 wethers, Messrs. Millington Bros., 103 each; 10 ewe hoggets, Mr. Dennison, 16s each. The waggon, harness, etc., were next offered ; 1 Full sized wool waggon with tilt, L 24, Mr. J. Conlin. Spring cart, L 7 10s, Mr. J. Conlin. Set spring cart harness, L2 15s; wheelbarrow, LI 5s ; 3 forks, 3s each ; barrow, LI; dray, Ll6; collar, harness, cart,a nd and winkers, L 3 12s. An immensequantity of harness, saddles, bridles, covers, tarpaulins, etc., etc., were then offered and fetched satisfactory prices. The sale realised a total sum of L 30,000.
After the sale of Floraville yesterday, a number of gentlemen proceeded to the house of Mr. Fleming to toast the health of that gentleman and his partner, Mr. Hedley. Mr. E. Menlove, in a : few appropriate words, proposed Mr. Fleming's health, to which that gentleman suitably responded. Mr. A. Kerr,, manager of the National Bank, then called for a bumper to the health of Mr. Hedley, and, in doing so, congratulated Messrs. Fleming and Hedley on the very successful issue of the sale, remarking that at it was submitted, •without doubt, by far the largest collection of stock- —and of pure breds — ever brought together in the Colony, and he even ventured to hazard an opinion that such a magnificent collection, being the property of one firm, was never seen even in the Home Country. Mr. Fleming, in the absence of-his partner, responded, and heartily thanked every one who had either assisted the sale with their presence or with their cash, and three cheers having been given once more for the vendors, the little knot of sympathising friends dispersed.
