No attack has yet been made upofl Cabulj but the preparationsof Mahomed .lan, assisted by various chiefs, seem to indicate an attapk immediately.
A has been issued by Mahomed Jan to various tribes, warning them to be ready to attack the British on the 31st. No fearfl are? entertained of the result, as the force under General Roberts is entrenched, and is well supplied with ammunition and provisions The frost at Cabul has given way to rain, and the roads are almost impassable with mud. .Everything is quiet. General Massey, who commanded the Cavalry Brigade at Cabul, has been recalled, owing to the affair of the 10th December, when four guns were lost. Sir Richard Temple ■ will ' leave for England to-morrow, owing to the sudden dissolution of Parliament, and the approach of the new elections. Sir Richard is a Conservative candidate for East Worcester. His successor, Sir Jame3 Fergusson, will reach Bombay about the 20th April. ■
