Mr. Donald Stronach (on behalf of the New i Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited! reports as follows tor the week ending April 7th Fat Cattle.—279 head were yarded at "Burnaide to-day. Prices raided 12a ti»l to LIO 2s 6d per head for bullocks Demand was very doll, and values receded fully 2s 6d per 100 lb c of head on account of Messrs. illiam Shand and Little Bros, at market rates, which may be given at 208 per ICO lb for prtmo beet Fat sheeep were in verj full aappt>, 3«hKJ having been penned, which sold at prices np to tts 3d per head. In conscience of the large supply, prices receded fully a «l per lb from the exceptional rates ruling at last week's auctions, and we quote mntton at -d per lb. On account of Messrs. V> illiam Tellord and John Duncan we cleared 404 head at from Sa9d to I Is 3d per head Fat Lambs. —289 were sold at from 4s 9d to 7s 3d, according to size and condition. Store Cattle.—We held a sale at the Mosciel Yards on the Ist instant, when we sold !!).-»head on account of Mr. P. K. M Caughan. Bulloeks fetched L 5 15s to LS, and cows L 3 30a to L 4 17s Cd per head. Store Sheep.—l-00 were offered at auction to-day, 900 of which were sold at -is tkl to 5s for merino wethers, and 4s 3d for merino ewes. Cross-breds realised 3s »d to (Js 3d. Wool We held our No. 7 sale of this season on Monday, the sth instant when we offered and disposed of several small lots. A3 per particulars subjoined. TV ith fair competition, prices ruled about the samea3 those previously current. Sheepskins.—At our weekly auction on Monday last, we cleared a large catalogue at satisfactory prices. Full-wooled skins realised up to 5a 7d tor cross-bred, and 5s 5d for merino ; pelts and butchers' skins up to -s 7d, and lambs up to 3s each. HKte 3 . We repeat quotations of 20a each for green hides, and 3.? d per lb for wet-salted, at which rates the demand continues unafaGrain. Wheat: The demand 13 slack, but without"any quotable change in prices. The market is now pretty clear of old wheat. There is some inquiry for fowls' feed, Tvhicii is scarce. Oats: With increasing stocks, and in the absence of demand for shipment, the indications are towards a continued decline. Sales of the new crop are reported a' Is 2d to Is 3d per bnahel. Old oats are in demand, but we doubt whether more than Is 6d per bushel could be obtained for the best. Barley: Stocks in warehouse are small, but a good deal is being offered on sample. Buyers, however, show a reluctance to operate. Really good parcels of malting could lie placed at 33 9d to 43; and milling. 2s 3d to 3s per bushel. ■
