Sydney,' March 17The following Exhibition awards have bean published :—Auckland Steam Rope Factory, ropes, Ist; Bevan, do, 2nd ; Thomas Harbutt, Auckland brushware, 3rd ; T. W. Ffrost, Wellington vulcanite stamps, 3rd ; C. Fulton, Blenheim flax, 3rd ; A. Robertson, Nelson, hemp, Ist; Thomas Bevan, flax, 2nd. In the Assembly, Mr. Fitzpatrick urged the desirableness of the Electoral Bill being proceeded with as early as practicable, in order to ensure that the next general election takes"place under the Bill. Sir H. Parkes undertook to consider it immediately the Government could fix: a day for the second reading, but thought, the Bill should be the last important measure dealt with by the present Parliament. At Lithgow a larrikin was sentenced to two months' imprisonment for assaulting a Chinaman. Melbourne, March 17. The Liberal Reform League has published an appeal to its supporters for funds to reorganise and consolidate the party. : It is understood that' the Government intend to disband the garrison of artillery and employ the saving in strengthening the Volunteer organisation. The position of the Black Wednesday victims will be determined on Thursday. Adlaide, March 17. The capsized boat and the bodies of Captains M'lntosh and Caspar, of the schooners Lillie and Windward, were found on the beach a Port Macdonald. It is supposed that the boat capsized in the breakers in attempting to land. A person named Hammond, who kept his carriage and lived in style, has swindled many tradesmen of goods, which he pawned and then absconded. In the match, Australians v. Adelaide, the latter won by 304 to 235. Brisbane, March 17. The Government have arranged to keep their court at the Sydney Exhibition open till the end of March. A considerable fire took place at Dalley last night. The Government are about to offer LIOOO reward for the best preservative against rust in wheat, to stand a three year's test. Telandily Station, at Barco, with 5500 cattle, was sold at L 5 per head to M'Donald, Smith, and Co., of Sydney.
