AUCTIONEER'S REPORT. Mr. George Greenfield reports that he held a sale of sections in the Vt aitaki District. furniture, tarpaulins, &c., at his mart, on Saturday. The attendance was good, and, the bidding spirited. The two sections were sold at L 7 IGs each. Furniture brought itood prices. He also reports that he held a sale of boots, jewellery, plated goods, &c„ at his mart, on Satnrday night, when the attendance was good, aid fair prices were real ised. He also reports that he held a sale of stone, iron, and iron tanks, for removal, on the premises, Thames-street, to-day. The attendance waa large, and the bidding very spirited. The wholeof the lota submitted were cleared at good figures.

DGNEDiN. In its report for the week ended the 20th wast., the Otago Daily Times says' The grain market i» qmet as regards the newcrops. New wheat is more active; galea have been made in town at 4s 4d for really prime. We hear of a very large sale ty one of our farming companies ot all the wheat on several of their properties, for shipment in Lytteltou, at a price that appears to leave very little margin on the present home valne. Barley : The brewers are holding off buying, evidently with a view to getting their pick of the numerous samples that will be offering; sales, however, are recorded a? 4s for prime malting.
