He also won the' Clutha Ferry Handicap, beating Lady Ellen' tour others— 2\ miles. He ran second to Backbiter for the Lawrence Town Plate, in • 1871 ; and won the Publicans' Purse at Waiwera—distance, 2 miles. His 'latest performance was winning the Cromwell Spring Handicap (distance, 1J mile), easily, and he has also been victorious in many other events.
BEDOUIN is brother to the well-known colt Saladin, the winnar of many big events at all distances, from 1 mile to 3, in good company.' "

Bedouin's dam, Gunsara, is a dark brown, with black points, imported direct from Arabia, by Mr, A. Pilans, having been selected from the purest of the racing stock in the country.
