OAMARU CLUB'S RACES.

By Cakactacus. . To-morrow will be commenced the autumn race-meeting of the North Qtago Jockey Club, and although the fields are somewhat limited there should .be good sport for. those who are present. I anticipate seeing some cldse finishes, .for with "the exception of> the Redcastle Handicap,; in which Titania seems to have a rather easy thing* the horses are pretty well matched J but even in the big event of the meeting I should not be surprised to* see Luna, with her light impost of 6st 21bs, cause the pot to boil over. That she has pace is well known, and the question t.Q be decided is, can she stay the distance. Certainly the weight Mr. Butler's mare will oarry shoiild not act as-a deterrent in this respect. . Chancellor, too; if in the humor, might; easily win, if ,he were the. chosen one of the stable, but lie is such an uncertain brute that I do not think Goodman will put his faith in him. Sir Modred, I fancy, will not be a starter, but even if he should face the starter I do not |anoy his chance much. That he can travel is unquestionable, but he is no,t; a bay 's horse, and his light impost is . rather a. .disadvantage than otherwise. ; Of the other races I will say nothing. I ; should not have... gone, into details with reference . to. the. Redcastle Handicap had it not been for the impression abroad that there is nothing in it but Titania.; With fine weather, their should bft a large attendance of spectators,-for the day is a holiday, and the railway' department have made special arfftflgerpeipits: for the conveyance of visitors to town and home again the ■sajfla; evening, Having premised thus far, I will prpceed to give my tips for to-morrow's races '
