The object of this Company is to erect in Oamaru, Buildings suitable for a Pablic Hall and Corn Exchange—the want of which has long been felt b.v the residents of the town and district. For this purpose the Provisional Directors can obtain the Freehold Section 1, Block 111, fronting Wansbeck arid Tyne Streets, for the sum of £2500, which can remain on mortgage for the term of five years at 8 per cent, interest per annum. The owner of the section has also agreed to advance a further sum of £IOOO on the same seourity if required. The position of the property—having regard to its vicinity to all the Banks, and the most important business part of the Town, is unequalled, and must yearly increase in value. ; •• The Buildings proposed to be erected, \vill consist of a Hall capable of searing 1000 people, and suitable for all publio purposes, with stage,: accessories, . &c. ; a^ao shops facing on Tyne and Wansbtok Streets, and above these a suite of rooms which could be used as Offices, for a Club, or in connection with the Shops.
