AUCTIONEER'S REPORT. Mr. A. H. Maude reports having held a sale of salvage stock, consisting of groceries, ironmongery, oilmen's stores, &c.; also drawing-room suite, piano, &c. The attendance was good and the bidding very spirited, good prices being obtained-for all the lots put up. Piano, L 4 5; drawing-room suite, L2O; pier glass, IA ; oral table, L2 ; fowls, wheat, 3s; barley, 2s lOd; oats, Is 7d. THE LABOR MARKET. Mr. Henry Macintosh reports for the week ending 6th March, as follows : Business in the labor market has improved during the week, although not so brisk as last year at this season, which can be accounted for by the great influx of immigrants of both sexes, and also by the fact that great numbers of them, as usual, are totally nasaited to the country. Female servants of all classes are plentiful, and also the following:—Cooks, male and female; married couples for farms or stations; shepherds, married or single; experienced managers for farms or stations; book-keepers, storemen, clerks, millers, &c.
