CRICKET.

: The return match between the first Elevens of the Oamaru and Excelsior Clubs was commenced on Saturday afternoon. The weather was all that could be desired, the ground was in good order, and the play shown generally an improvement iipon the cricket usually witnessed here. So far as the match has gone, it bids fair [to end in a victory for the senior club ; but it is only fair to mention that the Ex- ! 'celsior team was scarcely as strong as .usual, while the Oamaru Club brought a powerful team into the field.
