The gram season may fairly be said to have set in, the first deliveries of any quantity having come forward by rail dnring the week. Reports from districts where threshing has been going on for some time endorse the promise of an excellent yield. The wheat market is steadily coming to a better understood relation between buyers and sellers. Many of the heaviest growers have bfgtm threshing out for the purpose of shipping. Transactions to a considerable extent have transpired within the last few days at 3» to 3s lOd, but some of the buyers are indisposed to come finite np to these figures at present* Oatsf—Large quantities of these are being' tried without finding purchasers, settler# not caring to realise at the prices offered. Feed quality are quoted at ls'4d to ts 5d ; milling. Is fid Barley—No alteration to note in this cereal. Most of the samples shown have not been up to the average, being two l steely when bitten. Threshing out may have something to do with this fact, but we fancy the season has been rather too wet for this grain. Several lots have been quitted at 3s 3d to 3s Cd. while a few first-cf.v-s parcels have topped that price. Flour Floor of first-class quality is out of millers' hands just now. The next week or so will see some of the new in the market probably. Gras3 Seed— Both rye-graas and cocksfoot arc a drug, and sales are hard to make ; nominal values are 2s to 2s fid for the former, and 3* for the latter. Best quality beef this week at 2fls per lOOlbs ; medium, 17s (*l; mntton, 2d to I.Jjd. Pigs are in good demand.
