Sir Colin Campbell's tire, Young Iron 'Jake, by Iron Duke (imported), oui of Ducro, sister to MJel'ieu' prize mare. Young Iron Puke gained the first prize at ' \V;>rruftmbooi Show, Victoria, and first tor the best draught entire exhibited, beating all imported and colonial bred horses on the ground. At- the Grand National Show held at Kynetoa, 1569, he gained the first prize for the best colonial bred stallion, beating Dan O'Connell, the celebrated prizetaker, and tne renouned Prince Charlie, in the class open to all com-rrs. At the same place he gained the first prize in 1870, also first in 1872, never having been beaten in his class. Sir Colin Campbell's dam, Diamond, bred by Mr. Paterson, Quamby, her sire, Sir Colin Camrbell (imported) by James Ross, Esq., of Bishopbonrne, Tasmania. Her dam was the celebrated mare Blossom. Blossom's siri, Clyde, imported to Tasmania by M. Field, Esq., of Enfield. Diamond when two years old took first prize at Westbury ; whan three years old, first at Longford, and first at Westbury ; when four years old, first at Westbury; and in ] S7O, first at Launcestor, and fiivt at Westbury, being six first prizes in- all, never having been beaten in Tasmania. The following is a description taken from the Melbourne Weekly Leader of a halfsister of Young Muir Lad, purchased in Sydney at a high figure by the Auckland Stud Company of New Zsiland, from Mr. Andrew To-.vn, of .Richmond Bay filly, '2-year-old, by Muir Lad (imp.), dam Blossom. This lilly obtained second prize at Sydney Exhibition, 1873, being beaten by a first-class imported filly eighc months older thnn lierself, and at Sydney Exhibition, 1579, she obtained second prize in her class, beiu'g beaten by her half-sister, a splendid anuria!, some high-priced imported fillies being behind licr. Blossom's dam of this nsare, obtained first prizs and champion cup at Sydney Exhibition, IS7S, and Muir Lad, he: - sire, obtained ehairpion prize two years in succession.
