His grandson was sire of Stockwell, and grandsire of Blair Athol, Colleen, St. Albans, The Marquis, and Whalebone—embracing the representative of the purest and most successful racing strain of the present day. Quicksilver was imported from England by J. W. Ladbrook, Esq., to Canterbury in 1864. He was bred by John Coker, Esq., Lynn, Norfolk, by PrickwilJow. His dam, a Phenomenon mare, the property of John Bond, Esq., Old Prick willow, was the champion of all roadsters. G-OLBFINDER has taken several first prizes as the best Hackney Stallion at some of the principal shows as a weight-carrier and roadster; his equal is not in the Province.
