GOVERNMENT LAND SALE.
Mr. R. J?, Martin held a sale of Crown land at the Court-house this afternoon. The attendance was very meagre, owing, probably, to the heavy downpour of rain. The land submitted consisted of a number of sections in the township of Deborah, the upset price being L 7 10s per quarter-acre ; and rural sections in the Kurow district, a number of which were subject to valuations for fencing. Although the attendance was not large, the bidding for the various sections in the township was very spirited. Section 1, Deborah township, was withdrawn for the present, but will be put up again. The lots knocked down were—Section 2, township of Deborah, containing 1 rood, Ll7 10s, to Mr. Robert Wilson ; section 3, 1 rood, LIG 10s, Mr. John Dobson ; section £3, poles, LIS 15s, Mr. Robert Wilson ; section 49, 1 acre 2 poles, L 34 10s, Mr, Robert Wilson; section 50, 1 acre 2 poles, L 52 10s, Mr. Robert Wilson ; section 51, 1 acre 2 roods, L 54 10s ; Mr. J. Morgan. The rural sections in the Kurow district were then submitted, but only one lot met with a purchaser, that of section 9, block 1, containing 216 a. 3r. 27p., to Mr. George Sumptor, at L2 2s per acre.
