The weather is seasonably warm, and farmers are in better heart. GRAHAMSTOWN. December 20. Bi" Pump, with appliances, was sold to-day for LI3OO to Mr. Conner, manager of 3loanatairi. L 200.000 has been expended on the works, and the plant was valued at L 25,000. It was sold by order of the County Council, who received securities from the Government in trust fur this community, There is considerable dissatisfaction at the course pursued. The contractors for the railway works were sued in the District Court by natives for removing earth. The natives are receiving the license fee and miners' right fee from workmen on the same claim, and now received L3O and costs for the earth from the surface. This complication was owing to the terms upon which the Government hold the goldfi aids. The natives were prompted by interested PakeliaMaoris.
