SIR COLIN CAMPBELLis a dapple grey, rising 4 years old, and stands IGA hands high, fine action, and plenty of bone and hair ; fine temper and sound constitution. Sir Colin Campbell was bred by Mr. James Smith, Gladfield, North Taieri, out of the celebrated mare Diamond, by Young Iron Duke. Diamond imported from Tasmania by the late D. Nisbett, Esq. Sir Colin Campbell's sire, Young Iron Duke, by Iron Duke (imported), out of Ducro, sister to Mr. Jellies' prize mare. Young Iron Duke gained the first prize at Warrnambool Show, Viotoria, and first for the best draught entire exhibited, beating all imported and colonial bred horses on the ground. At the Grand National Show held at Kyneton, 1860, he gained the first prize for the best coionial bred stallion, beating Dan O'Connell, the celebrated prizetaker, and tne renouned Prince Charlie, in the class open to all comers. At the same place he gained the first prize in 1870, also tirst in 1872, never having been beaten in his class. .Sir Colin Campbell's flam, Diamond, bred by Mr. Pater3on, Qu.-unby, her sire, Sir Colin Campbell (imported) by James Ross, Esq., of Bifchophourne, Tasmania. Her dam was the celebrated mare Blossom. Blossom's fir-?, Clyde, imported to Tasmania by M. Field, Esq., of Enfield. Diamond when two years old took first prize at Westbury ; when three years oid, first at Longford, and lirst at Westbury; when four years old, tirst at Westbury; and in 1870, first at Frances ton, and firat at Westbury, being six first prizes in all, never having been beaten in Tasmania. Jean's dam, Kate, as 2-veu.r-old secured second at Taieri au:l tirst at Diioedin ; as a 3-year-old was Taieri and first at Dunedin, while the following year she not only toot first as the best brood mare, but was awarded the Champion <'up, presented by Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, and Co., for the best animal in the vsrd. YOUNG PRINCE OF WALKS, imported by Henry Hille, Esq., Want-wood, Southland, a'id bred by 1 n vrenee Drew, Esq., Merry ton, Hamilton, before leaving Home ha was awnded two firsts, and haa beaten all the horses of note in the Colonies. His sire, Old Prince of Wales, stands, and has stood for the last four yeais, at £4O. PRINCE IiOVAi., as a yearling, took second prize at Tiriip.ru, llrstat Christchurch, and first at Oamaru. When 2 years, was second at Timaru, and first at Oamaru; when 3 years was second at Oamaru. Dam, Jessie Bowman, out of GJd Blossom (imported;, by prince Charlie (imported). The following is a description taken from the Melbourne Weekly Leader of a halfaister of Young Muir Lad, purchased in Sydney at a high figure by the Auckland Stud Company cf New Zealand, from Mr. Andrew Town, of Richmond : Bay filly, 2-year-old, by Muir Lad (imp.), dam Blossom. This filly obtained second prize at Sydney Exhibition, IS7S, being beaten by a firat-clas,s imported filly eight months older than herself, and at Sydney Exhibition, 1879, she obtained second prize in her class, being beaten by her half-sister, a splendid animal, some high-priced imported fillies being behind her. Blossom's dam of this mare obtained first prize and champion cup at Sydney Exhibition, IS7S, and Muir Lad, her sire, obtained champion prize two years in succession. The sires of these fillies are those of the best horses that ever came to Australia, their lists of prizes taken in England, Scotland, as well as here, being as long as my arm ; and Muir Lad and Davie are too well know to need comment.
