The skill of Dr. Watfenburg aa an oculwt has just been exhibited in a most satisfactory manner by hist successful treatment of what was perhaps one of the roost ditiicult ■ cases which he has dealt- with since his arrival in InvercargiH. At his invitation we visited the consulting rooms at the Albion Hotel, yesterday morning, when we conversed with two or three oat of a total of about thirty patients present. The first case brought under notice was that of ,fames Robertson, of Morton Main;*, who wa» suffering from heavy tit ma in both eyes. He assured ns that for the past sis years he had suff-rfed acutfly. and during four year* of that period he had hewn under medical treatment without receiving any bunt tit —in ■fact he went from bait to worse. He had been totally blind of one eye, the other one being considerably affected, but could now distinguish the time on a clock a coapte of chains off. Mrs. W. Jsrrvtt, of iCtverfoß, was the ne*t patient introduced. Under Professor Wallenbergs treatment she had so far rewvered her hearing that she could without dijUcnlty hear a watch ticking. H. N. In Prglanit his ease was regarded as a hopeless one. and this was the more serious since the tenvvining one was commencing to sympathise with the affected one. The editor of this journal, accompanied by Mr. J. JConnor, visited the oculists' consulttngrooms at the Criterion Hotel this morning. The first person the editor conversed with w&tf Daniel Mahoney. a laborer, residing .at Logan's Point, who- stated that he had been totally blind for some two week*, through a severe he hatt eoatracftetlHe had been under private treatment for a weidt, but he got worse instead of better. He was browght to Professor Waltenbnrg on the Itth inst.. and, since he has been under this clever oculist 9 treatment, with the result that he is now recovering the sight of both eyes.
