[from our own correspondent.], London, October 31. The money market is active. The withdrawals of gold from the Bank of England are large. Sugar has advanced Gd per cwt. The tallow market is firm at advancing rates. At a public sale of Australian, nearly all the tallow offered was disposed of. Stocks of Russian tallow are low. Present quotations are as follow: Mutton : Inferior, 37s to 39s ; medium, :)0s to 40s (id ; finest quality, 41s to 425. Beef : Inferior, 37s to 37s (id ; medium, 38s to 38s Gd ; best quality, 393 to 40s. The tin mai-ket is excited, and prices show a considerable riso, Present quotation, L 95. The corn market is quiet and easy. Australian wheat is selling, ex Salisbury, at 59s per 480 lbs. The invention of a mixture to preserve butter is announced. The butter is preserved in its ordinary state, but saltless.
