His grandson was sire of Stockwell, and graridsire' of Blair Athol, Colleen, St. Albans, • The Marquis, and Whalebone— embracing the representative of the purest and most successful, racing strain of the present day. GOLDFINDER is a steel grey, with 'black points, stands 15 hands 3 inches high, is very powerfully made, and has nice, symmetry of-form, with splendid action. Goldfinder was bred by William Webb, Esq., of Riccarton, near ('hristchurch; is by the imported, horse Quicksilver, out of Lady Margaret, by Wellington (imported); granildam Fanny, by Sir Hercules—Sir Hercules being the progenitor, of the New Zealand Turt, and long proclaimed and proved to be the best blood sire in the Australian Colonies. Quicksilver was imported from England by J. W. Ladbrook, Esq., to Canterbury in 1864. He was bred by John Coker, Esq., Lynn, Norfolk, by Priekwillow. His dairi, a Phenomenon mare, the property of John Bond, Esq., Old Priekwillow, was the champion of all roadsters.
