He also won the Clutha Ferry Handicap, beating Lady Ellen four others—distance, 2-J miles. He ran second to Backbiter for the Lawrence Town Plate, in IS7I ; and won the Publicans' Purse at Waiwera—distance, 2 miles. His latest performance was winning the Cromwell Spring Handicap (distance, 1J mile), easily, and he has also been victorious in many other events. Sir Hercules was siro of Coronation, Faugh-a-ballagh, Irish Birdcatcher, Warlock, Daniel O'Rourke, Knight of St. George, and Songstress—all Derby and St. Leger winnwa in Kngland. His grandson was sii-s of Stockwell, and grandsire of Blair Athol, Colleen, St. Albans, The Marquis, and Whalebone— embracing the < representative of the purest and most successful racing strain of the present day. Bedouin's dam, Gunsara, is a dark brown, with black points, imported direct from Arabia, by Mr, A. Pilans, having been selected from the purest of the raciug in the country. The Celebrated Norfolk Tratting Stallion GOLIJFINDER,, Wiil travel the Districts of PapAkaio, Maerewhenua, Ngapara, Otepopo, and Hampden, this season. GOLDFINDER is a steel grey, with black points, stands 15 hands 3 inches high, is very powerfully made, and has nice symmetry of form, with splendid action. GoUlfinder was bred by William Webb, Ksq., of Hiccarton, noar (,'hristchurch; is by the imported horse Quicksilver, out of Lady Mari/aret, by Wellington (imported) ; granddam Fanny, by Sir Hercules—Sir Hercules being the progenitor of the New Zealand Turf, and long proclaimed and proved to be the best blood sire in the Australian Colonies. Quicksilver was imported frosft England by J. W. LadLrook, Esq., tft Canterbury in 1864. He was bred, by John Coker, Esq., Lynn, Norfolk, by Prickwillow. His dam, a Phenomenon mare, the property of John Bond, Esq., Old i'rickwillow, was the champion of all roadsters.
