The following are the present quotations : Mutton : Inferior, 30s to 31s f>d : medium. 32s to 34s : best quality, 34s Gd to 3f)s. Beef : Inferior, 25s (id to 30s ; medium, 30a to 31s ; best quality, 32s to 335. The tin market is strong ai a slight advance. Present price, L7G. The corn market is firm and steady. October 4. The Arabs have cut off British communication on both sides of Shuturgardan. Sydnky, October C. The Charlotte and Andrew Ziander, brig, is a total wreck at Cardwell. She is insured in the New Zealand Insurance oftice for three-fourths of her value.
