Young Iron Duke gained the first prizes at Warrnambool Show, Victoria, and first for the best draught entire exhibited, beating all imported and colonial bred horses on the ground. At the Grand National Show held at Kyneton, IS6P, he gained the first prize for the best coionial bred stallioD, beating Dan O'Conneli, the celebrated prizetaker, and tne renouned Prince Charlie, in the class open to all comers. At the same place he gained the first prize in 1870, also first in 1872, never having been beaten in his clas*. Sir Colin Campbell's dam, Diamond, bred by Mr. Paterson, Quamby, her sire, Sir Colin Cami-bell (imported) by James Iloss, Esq , of Bishopbourae, Tasmania. Her dam was the celebrated mare Blossom.
