A youth named Pillow, 18 years of age, was brought up this morning charged with an attempt at sticking up Mr. May, a, draper, last night on the Kiccarton road. He fired two shots at May, one of which e.-a/.ud his shoulder. A demand for money was made before the shot was fired. May, who was driving home with his wife, jumped out, of the trap ami knocked Pillow down. The driver of another trap, which was passing, went to the police station, and returned with a policeman. Pillow was dressed in two suits of clothes, with a black mask, and armed with a revolver and a small bowie knife. At h ome ho had a large American knife, a Japanese knife, a dagger, and the head of an assegai, all of which articles are supposed to have been stolen. He was remanded till the 13th.
