On the application of the police, a remand was. granted until Monday next. The inquiry into the origin of the lire' was adjourned, in order that Waters might be present. After discussion with Waters'' counsel, the Coroner said that Inspector Milliard and himself had been down to the gaol and seen iho gaoler, wiio had refused to give up the prisoner except under a ! writ of ItalnKx corpm. lie (the coroner) had therefore decided to telegraph to the Altornoy-Cenoral or other principal ollieor of the Crow 11 to give orders to the gaoier to have the prisoner given up. any c. se uie matter would have to be adjo. to-day. The Coroner then adjourned the inquiry till to-morrow, at two o'clock, and requested, the witnesses to be in attendance at that hour.
