[BY TKLKCKAI'II.] Grahamstown, September 4. The following message per Star pigeon from tho Native Agent at Paeroa, is just received : Tho preliminary meeting is now taking place satisfactorily. Mr. Wilkinson is going to the Ngatihako with Pcnata, Te Pa Wina, Kerci, and others to convey the message of the rununga to Ngatihako. Mr. Wilkinson will return to-day, and will bring tho result of the meeting at Okakurakurn. Tho Ngatihako will probably come down to-morrow. The native chiefs meeting at It' mata today will determine the course to take with the murderers. The meeting will la3t two days. Pakarua is not supported, and i 3 still at his own settlement. Mr. Sheehan has determined to throw the responsibility on the whole tribes in the district if the offenders are not arrested. The Native Minister left Auckland en route to Napier to contest Clivc. The impression is that Pakarua will bo given up. Later.
