(by telegraph.) Auckland, September 5. In the Eden election, Whitaker polled 30!> ; To!c, 413. September 6. It is rumored that steps will be taken to induce Mr. F. Whitaker, who was beaten by Mr. Tole in the Eden election, to stand for the Thames on the vacancy arising. Wellington, September 5. The election for the two members to represent the city took place to-day. The following is the result Levin, 1185 ; Hutchison, 880; Hunter, 80S; Greenfield, 409. Wanoanui, September 5. The election resulted thus ;—Bryce, 530; Ballance, 525 ; Fox, 473. One return not yet in, which cannot affect the result.

September 6. The full numbers polled in the Wanganui election are >—Bryce, oGO ; Ballance, 547 ; Fox, 501. ? Christchttrch, September 5. Latest returns from Kaiapoi give Mr. Bo wen a majority of 81. Dunedin, September 5. The polling for the Roslyn election is: — Driver, 553 ; Barr, 344 ; Hogg, 11. At Port Chalmers, Mr. Macandrew polled 34G : Green, 2G5. Blueskin and Purakanui returns have yet to come in. Greysiouth, September 5. For the Grey Valley election, Masters, <m independent Greyite, polled 1031 : Beeves (Grey), 7C4 ; Morris (Good Templar), 384 ; Lahman, 234 ; Drury, 32 ; and M'Lean, 12. There are three more returns to come in, but they cannot affect Masters' and Beeves' majority. New Plymouth, September 5. The following is the resultof the polling at this end of the Egmont district ; Atkinson, 152 ; Sherwood, 14. At the Patea : Atkinson, 170 ; Sherwood, 104. Total polling—Atkinson, 322 ; Sherwood, 118. Majority for Atkinson, 204. Hokitika, September 5. The polling has resulted as follows ; Reid, 854 ; Seddon, 754 ; Dungan, 519 ; Barff, 373 ; and Cuming, 88. The other returns to come in cannot alter the state of the poll. Reid and Seddon are both Greyites. Queenstown, September 5. At the nomination for the Lake district to-day, Messrs. Manders, Finn, and Mason were duly proposed. The show of hands was in favor of Mason. Gisborne, September 5. Mr. M'Donald has been returned for the East Coast.
