ELECTION GOSSIP.

Auckland, September 3. At the Waiteniata nomination, Messrs. Reader Wood and J. S. Macfarlane were proposed. The show of hands resulted in 46 being held up for Mr. Wood and five for Mr. Macfarlane. Wanganui , September 3. The Wanganui nomination took place to-day. Sir William Fox,, and Messrs Bryce" and Ballance were nominated. On shows of hands being called for, 400 each were held up for Messrs. Bryce and Ballance, and 200 for Sir William Fox, who demanded a poll.
