AUCTIONEER*!* REPORT. Mr.. T. EE. Brown reports holding a sale of Emslie's bankrupt stoat of drapery, &c., on Wednesday, 27th. inat.. The attendance was good and bidding spirited and brisk, and the prices realised fair. He also reports holding a sale of Aitken'a bankrupt stock of groceries, fte., on Friday, 29th inst. The attendance was targe and bidding spirited, the figures realised being very satisfactory. DUNEMN. Mr. UaifßT thuvKß, on behalf of the NJf.L.and M.A. Company (Limited)', reports for the week ending August 27, JSW, as follows 1— Fat Cattle —179 yarded, constating of medium to prima quality. Owing to the trade being well supplied from last week, ths demand to-day was slack, ami a considerable reduction had to be submitted to. We sold 30 head on account of Messrs. John Anderson and A. Jl'Laren, at equal to 27a fid for prime and 25s for medium. Fat, Sheep—2;3>ts were penned—considerably over the requirements of the trade, and in consequence prices receded fully Is fid per head on last week's quotations. We sold 600 on account of Messrs. M'Laren, J. and J. Sutherland, and F. 9 ; haw. from 10a fid! to li2k for cross-breds, and 5s fid for small merino ewes. We quote mutton at 2d to 2|d per lb. | Sheepskins—There was a good attendance of buyers at our safe on Monday, and prices obtained showed a slight advance on late quotations. Cross-fereus fetched from 2a fid to -Is for butchers ; merino do, 2s 4d to4s Id ; pelts and mixed skins, from Id to Is 6<t each. Hides are firm at last week's quotations. Tallow—We have no sales to report of rendered: rough fat is; worth front J4s to 15a fid according to quality. Grain—There is fair inquiry for small parcels of prime milling, which may fee quoted at 4s Td to- 4s Od ; medium do, 4s 3d to <te fid. Oats rNo alteration to report. Wc quote feed at 2s to Id ; milling, &2d to 2s 3d. Barley : Good bright samptes of malting are scaree, and are worth from 5s to 5a 3d ; medium and inferior arc difficult to place. Owing to the return of fine weather business is improving. Southern Sour ts selling at from LIS to XI2 10s; Adelaide, Ll4 to LI4 tOs. Potatoes are in brisk demand at the ship's side at Lfi 5s per ton. Ifobart Town seed has been sold at LI(X_ Malt, bs fid. Trade circulars from New "i ork speak more hopefully of better prices being obtained for kerosene. Under auch circumstances holders in tho Colony are following suit. At the present moment the stock afloat and to follow for New Zealand is limited.
