Merchants are still complaining of the wet ; weather retarding the operations of buyers for the spring and summer trade. Several trade sates by auction have been held this week, but the paucity of buyers and the offers made were such as to leave no option but the withdrawal of the goods. In breadstuffs the stock has been little added to, consequently late values are the order of the day. Oatmeal—Well supplied ; stocks beyond requirement to arrive having been quoted at about LIS tUs. In batter and eggs prices are stationary. Oats still remain at old quotations, and sales of inferior rule aa low as & fid, while much superior feed has changed hands at & 9d and 211(X1. Maize still continues to poor in from the Islands ; B(M> sacks were received this week ex Meg st«rriHes from Fiji. The low rates rttling compelled consignees to store, prime qualities being parcelled out to the trade at 3s 2d and upwards. A line of Sydney was quoted at 2s fid. Potatoes are, if anything, rather firmer; a line of Canterbury sold at the wharf at L&. ilobart Town ore now out of first hands, and are quoted at from 18 to LS 10. Pearl barley, L 24 Is 4d; malt (aouth«rn>, 8s 9d to 9a; and barley sold at 6» 6d to &» Od.
