There has been keen competition for best pens at a slight advance all round on last weeks quotation* some prime quality falling- 36a per IGOlk We quote prime beef at 32s fid: to 3.1s : medium do. 30s. Fat Sheep.—The average supply of 2317 was penned—-cross-breds and) merinos? from good stores to- really prime quality. There was a slight improvement on last week's prices for good sheep-, cross-breds ranging from S» 6d to- 13a ts<i each—equal to 2sd per lb. ... Woot.—Advices of the opening of the London wool! sales on the 12th inst., which may be expected in a few days, are being anxiously looked for. In this market there are no sales of any consequence. Sheepskins We offered a small catalogue at our usual sale on Monday. There was a fair attendance of buyers, and late quotations'were fully maintained. Batchers' cross-breds fetched t'romi 23; 5d to 3s; merinos,. 2s 2d to 2» 4d; pelts and station skins, 7d to- ts tOd each. Hides.— Che demand of late has net been equal to supply,, and a fall in value has taken place. During the week we have sold 500 at 2per lb< for salted* and 13a to 16s Bd for green butchers. Tallow has been ia over supply and difficult to- quit even at low rates. We have placed 75-uaskft at from 16s to 23s* according to tjuality ; rough fat we quote at 14s Cd to l'ss bit. Grain.—Wheat t On account of telegraphic news from Home and the other colonies, there is not much inquiry for large parcels. Sales of small tots have been made during the week, at 4» l0«t for reaHy prime samples »£ North wheat,, and 'ls 3d to 4a 6d for medium. Oats t Little demand during weekquotations unchanged. Seed tartarian is inquired for in small parcels at 2a •td to 2» lid for realty good samples. Barley : No change in quotations to report.
